From the time he began his studies at Glasgow School of Art, over sixty years ago, Willie has approached his work with uncompromising drive and determination, and as a teacher for many years he was able, in turn, to pass this ethos on to a new generation of artists and creative minds.

As his career has developed Willie’s style has become instantly recognizable, his superb monochrome linocuts, with the occasional judicious splash of colour, convey with such economy his keen observations and wry sense of humour.
