Helen Wilson was born in Paisley and studied at the Glasgow School of Art and Hospitalfield from 1971 to 1976, during which time she won many awards prizes and scholarships.
Helen has successfully combined motherhood with her full-time painting career, during which she has developed a solid reputation for her portraiture and figurative work. In recent years Inspired by her daughter, who is a professional dancer, she has developed a reputation for her fine ballet paintings.
Helen has exhibited widely in London, USA and Scotland. Her exceptional ability as a draughtsman, combined with her fluency as a painter have won her many prestigious awards and she was elected member of The Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts in1984, Royal Scottish Watercolour Society in 1997 and Paisley Arts Institute in 2005. Her works are held in numerous private and public collections and she continues to live and work in Glasgow.
